Why Do Punugu Prices Vary So Much? What to Know Before Buying 1 Gram

When comparing Punugu prices, a small jar can raise a big question: why does the same quantity cost differently from one seller to another?

Before comparing prices, it helps to understand what each jar contains, where the product comes from, and how much you need for each application. At Deiveegaa, customers often ask whether a higher price means original Punugu—or whether its colour and fragrance can tell them enough.

Here are five questions to consider before buying.

What Are You Actually Buying When a Jar Says “Punugu”?

The first question to ask is simple: does the jar contain Punugu alone, or have other ingredients been added?

Deiveegaa’s Punugu contains no added ghee or other ingredients. We import it in batches and portion it into 1-gram jars for sale.

When buying from any seller, ask for a clear explanation of the contents. If the product is a preparation containing additional ingredients, knowing what those ingredients are helps you compare it with other options.

Two jars with the same name and weight may not contain the same formulation. Understanding the contents gives you a more useful starting point for comparing prices.

Why Is Punugu Sold in Small Quantities Like 1 Gram?

A 1-gram jar may look small, but only a light dab is needed for each application.

Our suggested method is to lightly touch the Punugu with a clean ring finger and apply it to the middle of the forehead. There is no need to scoop out a large amount.

The small quantity used each time is why a 1-gram jar is a practical format. How long it lasts depends on how much you apply and how often you use it.

Deiveegaa recommends using Punugu within 60 days of opening the jar. This is our guidance for use after opening, rather than a promise that every jar will provide 60 days of applications.

Can Colour, Texture, or Fragrance Prove Punugu Is Original?

Deiveegaa’s Punugu has an off-white to yellow colour and a jelly-like texture. Its fragrance is distinctive and different from a conventional perfume, so first-time users may find it unfamiliar.

These characteristics help explain what to expect, but colour, texture, and fragrance alone cannot confirm that a product is original.

Our owner also describes a finger-rub check: rubbing a small amount between two fingers and observing how it behaves and whether it leaves an oily layer. This is a suggested observation from the owner’s experience; it should not be presented as conclusive proof of purity.

Ask the seller about the ingredients and what supports their authenticity claim, rather than relying on a single physical characteristic.

Does a Higher Price Prove That Punugu Is Original?

No. A higher price alone does not prove that Punugu is original.

For Deiveegaa, sourcing is a factor in the price. We import our Punugu directly from Ethiopia in Africa, before portioning it into retail jars.

That explains a factor behind our own pricing. It does not establish the authenticity of another product simply because it costs more or less.

When comparing Punugu prices, look at the net quantity, the stated contents, and the sourcing information together. Ask sellers to explain their product and support the claims they make about it.

What Should You Ask Before Buying Punugu?

Start with the question our owner considers most useful:

“Is this Punugu alone, or have you added any other ingredients?”

Then ask:

  • Where is the Punugu sourced from?

  • What is the net weight of the product inside the jar?

  • How much should I use for each application?

  • How soon should I use it after opening?

  • What information supports the claim that it is original?

Clear answers help you understand what you are paying for and how to use the product once it arrives.
